Looking for some simple games at home for the kids? Look no further! Below Big W have some fun backyard games which you can create using party products including, Paper Plate Favour Ball Throw game, Pick Up Sticks Balloon game and Paper Plate Ring Toss!
Paper Plate Ring Toss
Have some outdoor fun by creating your own Paper Plate Ring Toss game. It won’t take long, and you can add your own, unique twist to it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- White Paper Plates for bases
- Colourful Paper Plates
- Cardboard Rolls
- Toilet Paper Roll
- Scissors & Glue
- Black Marker
Step 1
Take a white paper plate and glue one side of the cardboard roll, and hold them together for a few seconds.
Step 2
To create the rings, use a colour plate and place the toilet roll in the centre of the plate. Using a pen draw a circle around this toilet roll.
Step 3
Carefully cut around the circle you have prepared. Always ask an adult to help do this.
Pick Up Sticks Balloon Game
Have some outdoor fun by creating your own Pick Up Sticks Balloon game. It won’t take long, and you can add your own, unique twist to it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Colourful 12cm Latex Balloons
- Balloon Pump
- Scissors
- Small Cable Ties
- Chicken Wire
- Wooden Sticks – approximately 60cm long
Step 1
Take the chicken wire and cut to roughly a metre in length.
Step 2
Fold this piece of chicken wire so the ends connect to create a cylinder, to keep these ends together securely use the cable ties to connect them along the whole piece of wire.
Step 3
Now the cylinder is held together, one by one put the wooden sticks through the cylinder ensuring that both ends can be pulled out of the wire. Make sure to leave some room at the bottom of the sticks for the balloons to fall when sticks are removed.
Step 4
Keep threading through the wire all the balloon sticks until you have no big games for the balloons to fall through.
Step 5
Using a balloon pump, inflate that 12cm latex balloons to look like small balls.
Step 6
Repeat this process for different coloured balloons, once inflated put these in the cylinder so they sit above the sticks. Now time to have some fun! Can you remove the sticks without the balloons falling?
Paper Plate Ball & Throw
Have some outdoor fun by creating your own Paper Plate Ball & Throw game. It won’t take long, and you can add your own, unique twist to it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- White Paper Plates
- Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Party Favor Balls
Step 1
Take a white paper plate and using one of the paint colours, put in the centre ‘10’ to create the first score point.
Step 2
Using another plate and paint colour, put in the centre ‘20’.
Step 3
Repeat this process until you have 5 plates with score up to ‘50’. Place these out side with space in between the plates, throw the balls and try to reach the highest scoring plate! What was your top score?
